In 2000, Ron Simpson made an important observation about the climate of the video game industry - "The cultural impact of gaming presented an explosive opportunity." Ron also saw that the current retail distribution channel was not fulfilling the consumer demand for an interactive gaming experience.

Although gaming had a wide global distribution, the support infrastructure undeserved the specialized needs of the gaming community. Ron, a gaming enthusiast himself, set out on a mission to address the voracious appetites of the ever-expanding gamer demographic.

Ron envisioned a retail environment where it was possible to know his customers on a first name basis an to sell to them based upon their buying habits. With a personalized consultative selling process, in-store tournaments, fair pricing for used games and exceptional customer service, Ron's vision has become a reality.

According to market research firm NPD Group, 2008 sales of video games hardware, software and accessories in the U.S. were $19 billion. Price Waterhousecoopers says global game-industry sales will reach $68.3 billion by 2012! Using this research, Play N Trade is slated to embark on its most aggressive expansion yet.

We expect to open another 100 stores by the end of 2009 and have a national presence of over 1000 stores in the next 3 years. The guiding principle for our expansion is achieving strong, controlled growth by partnering with franchisees that share a congruent vision.
