ODST: NOW WITH MORE BANG THAN BEYONCE

Posted by Play N Trade staff writer, 21st Sep 2009

In Halo 2, we all know the High Prophet of Regret flees from the humans with the ship In Amber Clad in tow like a squealing schoolgirl from the classroom’s pet tarantula. Master Chief, as you all very well know, expertly makes quick work of him quite soon afterward at Installation 05. And then, in Halo 3, quite obviously, Master Chief saves humanity once more by killing the High Prophet of Truth, destroying the local Flood at the new Halo ring, etc. Old news, yes?

But did you ever think to wonder what happened in the aftermath of the High Prophet of Regret’s pansy-ish fit of fear, when he created that nuisance of a shockwave during his slipspace jump? We all followed Master Chief’s story away from Earth, but there was quite a bit of damage to be undone in the aftermath of the battle with the Covenant fleet. That, my friends, is where Halo 3: ODST comes in.

A standalone expansion for Halo 3, ODST fills in the storyline between Halo 2 and Halo 3. Instead of playing as that grisly hero, Master Chief, you will be playing as “the Rookie,” who is an unnamed member of the UNSC Marine’s Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (“O.D.S.T.,” for those of you who haven’t figured that out yet). In addition to filling in a heck of a lot of gaps, ODST features all new campaign content as well as expanded multiplayer maps, and the fantastic new “Fire-Fight” mode.

Ready to kick some crazy Covenant behind? Halo 3: ODST releases this week, September 22nd. Do I even need to remind you where you should get it?
